"Your own" moon lamp doesn't have to mean a 3D-printed replica of the actual lunar surface — it can just as easily mean picking the moon design that actually matches how you sleep, decorate, and live. We carry several real moon lamps built on different themes, not one generic sphere.
Search "moon lamp" and you'll mostly find the same 3D-printed globe everywhere, in every shop, at every price point. We took a different approach: instead of one moon design stretched across the whole catalog, we built a small family of moon-themed optical illusion lamps, each aimed at a different mood or room.
Good Night Moon: the bedtime pick
The Good Night Moon 3D Optical Illusion Lamp is built specifically around the bedtime routine — a soft, sleepy design meant to be the last thing a child (or, honestly, an adult) sees before the lights go out. Like the rest of our optical illusion range, it's a laser-etched acrylic panel over an LED base, so there's no bulb to replace and the glow itself is soft rather than harsh.
Crescent Moon & Star: for a starrier look
If a plain full moon feels too simple, the Crescent Moon & Star 3D Optical Illusion Lamp pairs the crescent shape with a scattering of stars in the same panel, giving the glow more visual texture — better suited to a nursery or a kid's room that's already leaning into a night-sky theme.
Full Moon and Crescent Moon LED options
For a more literal take, both the Full Moon 3D Optical Illusion Lamp and the Crescent Moon LED Lamp are worth comparing side by side — the full moon reads as a complete glowing disc, while the crescent version has a sharper, more graphic silhouette that sits well on a narrow shelf.
Making it personal without a photo upload
We don't currently offer a print-your-own-photo moon lamp, so if what you're picturing is a moon engraved with a specific picture, that's not a build we can do. What we can offer instead is our Photo Frame Lamp collection — a set of keepsake-style frame lamps, like the Twin Birds Frame Lamp and Cloud Castle Frame Lamp, where the "personalization" comes from choosing the design that actually fits the person, rather than uploading an image. Pairing one of those with a moon lamp from above is a genuinely thoughtful two-piece gift, even without a custom photo etching involved.
Picking the right one
Start with the room: a nursery leans toward Crescent Moon & Star for the extra visual detail, a teen or adult bedroom usually suits the cleaner Good Night Moon or Full Moon design better, and a shared kids' space can take either without looking out of place next to other night-sky decor.
